Generally, the structure of master's programs in Sweden does not differ from the other European nations, with the typical duration being one or two years awarding 60 or 120 ECTS credits, respectively. In Sweden, 60 ECTS credit masters are called magisterexamen or magister examination, and the 120 ECTS credit masters are called masterexamen or a master’s degree. When studying master's in Sweden, be prepared for more hands-on coursework instead of listening to lectures. You will also conduct research, prepare analyses and apply theory to practice directly.

Once you have chosen a master's study program, apply for MSc course in Sweden. There are two masters intakes in Sweden: the Spring intake and the Autumn intake. The autumn intake is the primary intake, with almost all the universities offering master's courses during this intake. It starts in August-September, with online application processing starting from 15th October and open till mid-January. Students learn about their admission approval at Swedish universities for autumn intake by early April.

The Spring intake commences in January and is considered the secondary intake for masters in Sweden. Some master's programs may not be available during this intake at Swedish universities; therefore, check with GoSweden study counsellors.
